In 1976, Swipha was incorporated by F. Hoffmann-La Roche, Switzerland to produce and market high quality medicines supplying Nigeria and West Africa.

In 1999, Swipha brand was launched as a premium branded generic offering affordable
high-quality products covering mainly Antimalarials, Anti-infectives, Anti-diabetes, CNS and Cardiovascular.

In 2008, we were the first Pharmaceutical factory to obtain ISO 9001:2008 certification and currently we are upgrading to ISO 9001:2015.

In 2014, Swipha became the first to obtain the WHO cGMP status in West Africa.

In 2023, we became the first company in Africa to obtain WHO Pre-qualification for Zinc 20 mg Dispersible Tablet.

In 2024, Swipha becomes the first pharmaceutical manufacturer of WHO-prequalified Sulfadoxine + Pyrimethamine for the prevention of malaria in pregnancy.
